My brother's room was a No Man's Land when we were kids and I had to write about it. But I changed the names to protect the guilty... so my brother does not suspect that the book is about him. The cat is fictitious, too since we grew up with dogs. But the rest of the story is pretty much, almost completely, nearly, in some ways, kind of true. Really.
